Hongye ZHANG received the bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University, China, in 2015 and 2018, respectively, as well as the diplôme d’ingénieur from École Centrale de Lyon, France, in 2018. He has been pursuing a Ph.D. degree in applied superconductivity with the University of Edinburgh, UK, from 2018 to 2021. He is currently a research associate with the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Manchester, working on superconducting electrical machines for future aircraft with zero CO2 emissions in a UK collaboration programme called H2GEAR. His research interests mainly include modelling of high-temperature superconductors, design of superconducting machines, and analysis of high-power electromagnetics.
